Emerald City Sports Club is a 501(c) (3) public charity formed to teach the art of leadership using an athletic arena as the classroom. Our goal is to encourage participants to reach their highest potential athletically and academically. We believe the essential elements of character training, ethics and discipline are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship. The values learned in our programs, will be the basis for a vital and productive future. The goal of ECSC is to develop today's youths into tomorrow's leaders. Mission Statement ECSC serves the Seattle urban area by providing sports related programs and opportunities that encourage leadership and values development, enhance educational experiences, and promote health and fitness for economically disadvantaged African American and other multi-cultural youth. Philosophy Sports are played for fun but create the framework where important life lessons are learned and applied. Our sports programs create a dynamic that elevates and transforms individual performance to achieve greatness. This happens naturally if all participants have the same objectives and passion for what they do. With leadership we keep everyone focused on the core values embodied in sportsmanship. Children learn the value of building common objectives within an ethical framework and begin to appreciate sports for more than just its physical activity. Knowledge gained when the spirit is intensely engaged is fun, and will last a lifetime. This will be the legacy of Emerald City Sports Club.
